- Sniff and Tell: A rescue beagle's first adventure
- Gear and Treats: Budget paw-cleaning kit that actually works
Pack News:
Okay hi. The pack is growing and I am not being dramatic when I say the first wave of pup photos made my whole day. Next week we are talking muddy paws (and how to deal without turning your entryway into a crime scene).

Meet Mabel, a rescue beagle with a nose for trouble (the cute kind). Her human said the @doggyemail.com address turned into a tiny fan club from friends and family. Mabel has no idea what email is, but she is extremely pro-snacks.
(pictures for subscribers only)Trail Trick:
The 5-minute sniff scavenger hunt: hide 5 little treats in one room, say “find it,” and let your dog go full detective. Sniffing is calming and it makes busy brains settle.
(pictures for subscribers only)Gear and Treats:
My budget paw-cleaning kit: an old towel by the door + a small bowl of lukewarm water + a dab of pet-safe balm. Simple. Cheap. Works.

- Sniff and Tell: Kobe the golden retriever's mud cape lifestyle
- Gear and Treats: Paw basics plus the silicone paw cup upgrade
Pack News:
Shoutout to the muddy adventure photos. I laughed out loud at more than one of them. Also: the poll results were basically “infinite sniff stops,” which feels correct.
(pictures for subscribers only)Sniff and Tell:
Say hi to Kobe, a golden retriever who believes puddles are a lifestyle. His human keeps a towel by the door and calls it the “mud cape.” Kobe does not disagree.
(pictures for subscribers only)Trail Trick:
The towel routine: keep one towel by the door, ask for “paw” (or “touch”), and do a quick wipe before the zoomies start. Praise + one tiny treat makes it a habit.
(pictures for subscribers only)Gear and Treats:
If you want one upgrade, a silicone paw cup makes rinsing fast. Otherwise: towel + bowl is totally fine.

Which cleanup team are you?
a) Team Towel
b) Team Paw Cup
c) Team “they can stay muddy”Okay I have to see it:

Pack News:
Thanks again for the muddy photos. Kobe and friends are living their best lives. Next week: senior dog tips and a little love for our older pack members.

Meet Bailey, a 12-year-old lab mix who still thinks she’s a puppy. Her human made a treat “puzzle box” out of cardboard tubes and empty containers, and now Bailey demands her brain time every afternoon.
(pictures for subscribers only)Trail Trick:
The muffin tin game: put treats in a few cups of a muffin tin, cover all cups with tennis balls (or little toys), and let your dog figure out which ones have the goods. Great for rainy days.
(pictures for subscribers only)Gear and Treats:
DIY puzzle feeder: take an empty plastic bottle, cut a few small holes, fill with kibble. Your dog rolls it to get the food out. Free entertainment (supervise).
